What Is PumpkinVine? Futures Trading with SECOND LIFE Account Protection

4 min read

Key takeaways

PumpkinVine, part of Killara Securities (ASIC AR No. 001322159), offers exchange-traded futures with optional SECOND LIFE protection. Choose Standard, Pro, or No cover on each transfer; with cover, an 80% loss triggers a Credit Facility of 50% of principal. Principal and profit are not guaranteed.

What PumpkinVine is

PumpkinVine combines futures trade execution with account-level protection on one platform. You trade exchange-traded standardised futures from major global exchanges, and you can add an optional layer of protection to your trading account: SECOND LIFE.

PumpkinVine is part of Killara Securities (KILLARA SECURITIES PTY LTD), an established Australian securities firm, and operates within the regulatory framework of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). Authorised Representative Number: 001322159. Headquarters are in Sydney, Australia, with operations centres in 13 regions including Singapore and Hong Kong.

One point up front: SECOND LIFE is risk buffering, not capital protection. If your account reaches the agreed loss level, the system issues a trading Credit Facility under the product rules, giving you another opportunity to trade. It is not a guarantee of profit.

What you can trade

Every listed contract is an exchange-traded standardised future. The platform does not offer a house book or OTC contracts. Filter the markets page by CME, CBOT, HKEX, SGX and Eurex across four groups:

  • FX futures follow major currencies. All are CME contracts.
  • Equity index futures track major indices, including US, Hong Kong and China A50.
  • Energy, led by crude oil, is sensitive to supply, inventories and geopolitics.
  • Metals include gold, silver and copper.

Many underlyings also come in mini and micro sizes, such as Micro S&P (MES), Micro Nasdaq (MNQ), Micro Gold (MGC) and Micro WTI (MCL). A micro lot is smaller, so the value and margin per lot scale down. Margin follows the exchange; the platform does not set leverage. See Markets for multipliers and contract notes, or check live quotes on the markets page with no sign-in required.

How SECOND LIFE works

Select one plan on every transfer

Deposit to your Funds account, then transfer principal to your Trading account. On each transfer, select one plan:

  • Standard: pay a 10% Protection Fee to start a protection term.
  • Pro: pay a 10% Protection Fee plus a 10% hold. Cash out before a claim and the hold is refunded; if a claim triggers, the hold stays in the protection pool.
  • No cover: a plain transfer, with no Protection Fee and no Credit Facility.

Pro is not an upgrade after a claim. You can select it directly on the transfer screen.

When the trigger is reached

If you selected Standard or Pro and the original account reaches about an 80% loss, a Credit Facility equal to 50% of original principal is issued automatically. No application is needed. With 1,000 USDT of principal as an example:

Item Standard Pro No cover
Protection Fee 100 USDT (10% of principal) 100 USDT fee + 100 USDT hold None
Trigger About 200 USDT left on the original account Same as Standard —
Credit Facility 500 USDT 500 USDT (no extra size) None
Liquidation on credit 40% drawdown 80% drawdown —
Profit cap Up to original principal None —
Client profit share 100% 80% (platform 20%) —

In short: Standard is a second chance designed to help restore original principal. Pro suits more experienced traders who want the same Credit Facility with a wider drawdown band and uncapped eligible profit.

The Credit Facility is for trading only

The Credit Facility cannot be withdrawn; it can only be traded. Eligible profit under the rules is released in equal parts over 10 trading days, as long as you keep trading actively, and the released profit is yours. Moving funds back to your Funds account ends the term. Full rules, including Vest and activity reviews, are on the SECOND LIFE page.

FAQ

Is SECOND LIFE a cash payout?

No. If the trigger is reached, the platform issues a Credit Facility that can only be traded, not withdrawn. What you may withdraw later is eligible profit under the rules. SECOND LIFE is risk buffering and does not guarantee recovery of principal or profit.
